Christmas Lighting Installation Terms & Maintenance
These terms apply to seasonal Christmas lighting installations completed by MR & MRS HILL and should be read together with our general Terms & Conditions and the accepted quote.
Maintenance Support
Faults arising from MR & MRS HILL hire equipment or installation workmanship are covered during the agreed Christmas display period.
Where possible, we will initially assist with troubleshooting by phone before arranging an on-site visit.
Maintenance requests will be attended to as soon as reasonably practicable. Response times remain subject to team availability, travel requirements, weather and safe site access.
Chargeable Call-Outs
Maintenance and repairs required due to the following are not included within the installation package:
• Lighting that has been moved, tangled, disconnected or altered after installation
• Client, guest, contractor or third-party interference
• Disconnected, switched-off or unsuitable power
• Property electrical faults
• Gardening, landscaping or building works
• Damage caused by animals, vehicles, vandalism or severe weather
• Faults within client-owned lighting or equipment, unless directly caused by our installation workmanship
The standard maintenance call-out fee is $350 + GST.
This includes travel within the standard quoted service area and the first hour on site. Additional labour, extended travel or replacement products will be discussed and approved before proceeding.
Power Requirements
The client is responsible for providing accessible and operational power suitable for the installation.
Call-outs caused by unavailable power, switched-off outlets, tripped circuits or property electrical faults may incur the standard call-out fee.
Hire Equipment
All lighting and installation equipment identified as hire products remains the property of MR & MRS HILL.
Hire equipment must not be moved, altered, removed or connected to other equipment without prior approval.
The client is responsible for any loss or damage caused by misuse, interference, vandalism or circumstances outside reasonable wear and tear.
Installation and Access
Final product placement is subject to safe access, suitable fixing points, site conditions and available power.
Where property conditions differ from the information provided during quoting, changes to the installation scope or additional charges may be required.
Weather and Site Conditions
Installation, maintenance or dismantle may be rescheduled where weather or site conditions make it unsafe to proceed.
MR & MRS HILL will arrange the next suitable date with the client where rescheduling is required.
Changes to the Accepted Scope
The accepted quote covers only the products and services expressly listed.
Requests for additional lighting, revised placement or other work outside the accepted scope are subject to availability and may incur additional charges.
Dismantle and Collection
Seasonal dismantle dates may be provided as a nominated date or service window.
Clients must ensure reasonable access to the property and all installed equipment during the agreed dismantle period.
Hire equipment must remain installed and accessible until collected by MR & MRS HILL. Additional charges may apply where dismantle cannot proceed due to unavailable access, site changes or client-requested rescheduling.
Payment, Cancellation and Postponement
A 50% deposit is required to secure the booking. The remaining balance is due 14 days before installation unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Cancellation, postponement and refund arrangements are governed by the accepted quote, our general Terms & Conditions and applicable Australian Consumer Law.
