Mr & Mrs Hill Lighting began with a moment, one that moved us so deeply, we never forgot it.
It began with one unforgettable night in the Dubai desert where thousands of soft gold fairy lights draped across a palace-style resort. It was the night Geoff proposed, and the night we discovered the emotional power of lighting. It wasn’t just the romance, the setting, or the food, it was the atmosphere created by light that moved us. That single experience left an imprint we couldn’t shake. And from that night, a business was born. We just didn’t realise it yet!
Our Story
That night in Dubai has grown into one of Australia’s most recognised lighting brands.
After returning home to Australia, we began planning our wedding, and we knew we wanted to recreate the magic of that evening. Geoff confidently said, “Leave it up to me.” Not long after, I noticed a payment to a random factory in China and was told to just trust him.
The night before our wedding, Geoff surprised me and my bridesmaids with the reveal: a breathtaking canopy of lights inside the historic Glen Innes Town Hall, our hometown venue. The building was already beautiful, but the golden lights transformed it into something unforgettable. The atmosphere was electric, warm, emotional, and awe-inspiring.
With over 250 wedding guests and countless photos shared on social media, messages started flooding in, friends, planners, and even strangers asking if they could hire our lights for their evets. Suddenly, our weekends were filled with travel and installs at weddings, events, and venues across the region, and before we even realised it, we had a business and expanded into Sydney.
It wasn’t planned. In fact, “Mr & Mrs Hill” was just our wedding hashtag, and the name was blurted out on the spot when someone asked what our business was called. But what set us apart from the beginning was the combination of Geoff’s hands-on talent as a builder, and my background in marketing & events. We brought different strengths to the table, and together, we backed ourselves to build something big.
Eventually, we left our full-time jobs to go all in. We bought products, learned fast, and have continued to grow ever since.
Today, Mr & Mrs Hill Lighting is a name trusted by councils, event planners, celebrities, designers, and homeowners across Australia. We specialise in large-scale public installations, luxury interiors, commercial activations, and a curated range of lighting products, all designed to move people, spark emotion, and leave a lasting impression.
We didn’t set out to build a lighting company, but we saw an opportunity, took a risk, and built a brand we’re proud of.

Cassandra brings the vision, creative direction, and strategy. Geoff leads our installation team with precision and pride. Together, we’ve built a brand that merges technical excellence with emotion, always aiming to create magic, meaning, and moments people remember.

In collaboration with electrical partners and stylists, we design and install custom lighting solutions for homes, commercial spaces, and new builds, blending form, function, and aesthetic detail.
