The Mr & Mrs Hill Lighting brand has grown rapidly experiencing record growth in weddings and special event lighting, commercial business lighting and most recent; Christmas installations. Our lighting designs and products can be found at luxury wedding venues, special events and corporate balls all over the east coast of Australia.

In 2019 we launched our own lighting products available for event specialists and commercial businesses looking for featured lighting to compliment design experiences.

The future is full of exciting and innovative projects. Mr & Mrs Hill Lighting continues to excel in designing and installing world-class lighting experiences using the very latest available lighting products to meet the needs of our clients.

THE OWNERS

Mr & Mrs Hill Lighting is the brainchild of co founders; Geoff and Cassandra Hill. Geoff and Cassandra are actively involved in all aspects of running the company.

Geoff oversees all Mr & Mrs Hill lighting product development and electrical requirements along with all elements of installation logistics.

Cassandra manages marketing strategies, sales and customer experiences while overseeing manufacturing affairs, stakeholder collaborations and business partnerships along with coordinating ongoing projects and events,

OUR STORY

Mr & Mrs Hill Lighting was not a planned business, it all just evolved and happened so quickly. Four years on and we have our own lighting products being designed in Australia and manufactured off shore.

This is how our story started…………….

December 2014, A trip to Dubai we will never forget! 

We were visiting my best friend and her family in Dubai. Geoff and I were about to go on the giant Ferris wheel at Global Village while my friend waited with the kids. Little did I know; Geoff had planned with her to take photos of his carefully planned surprise marriage proposal. This night was nothing short of amazing. Geoff took my hand and asked me to be his wife then he surprised me with an adventure in the Dubai desert. A personal driver escorted us through 70kms of desert, I was in suspense wondering where we were going that could be so far from the city. We were dropped at the bottom of a track where we were greeted by a host holding two white horses. We rode through a candlelit track to the breathtaking Babal Shams Resort. 

This was one one of the most special nights we have ever experienced together. We enjoyed the most amazing foods and wines while sitting in a personal bungalow. The thing that I remembered most was the feeling! It’s hard to describe the feeling but the words that describe the feeling best are: alive, inspired, moved, happy and excited. I quickly realised that the feeling wasn’t just from the seamless customer service, the food or the entertainment. The feeling was largely created by the thousands of Gold fairy lights draping the palace like building and surrounds.

I couldn’t ever forget the gold fairy lights and I didn’t stop talking about them when explaining our engagement to others.

On return to Australia we set a date for our wedding and just like most excited brides to be; I started planning my dream wedding. I told Geoff I would love to have a small feature of gold fairy lights to be a part of our reception. A few days later Geoff said to me that he would take care of the styling for the wedding. I of course laughed and said “don’t be silly” but he was serious. I later noticed a payment go off shore for thousands of fairy lights.

On the night before our wedding he took me and some of my bridesmaids into the beautiful old Glen Innes Town Hall to reveal thousands of gold fairy lights forming a sheeting across the roof. I was in tears and overwhelmed. I loved it so much.

Guests shared photos on social media and the very next day we received several messages from people planning a wedding or event asking to hire our lights. We didn’t really think much of it at the time and we of course said yes to all requests.

Geoff started buying more and more lights to cater for all the events we were doing lighting installations for and I took on marketing and customer service responsibilities. We were winging it in the beginning and learning as we went.

Geoff is a builder which allowed him to do epic installations within venues and marquees. He eventually added structural designs to do outdoor canopies of lights also.

Over the last four years we have travelled all over NSW and QLD to install lighting for weddings and special events and we have also consulted to commercial businesses for lighting and installations. We have our own product designer and manufacturer and have many exciting projects in the works.

We simply believe that our lights really do move people, inspire and make people feel happy.

Our lights look amazing in photos however nothing beats seeing them and feeling them in real life.
